The learning curve moving from a Marketing and Communications specialist to a website designer has been huge. Five years ago when I started building the websites I designed (rather than have others build my designs as I had done previously) I described the learning curve as a baptism of fire.

I’m happy to say those days are long gone and these days  it’s very rare that I feel daunted at the prospect of a huge website with many different functionalities and integrations.

However I never stop learning. The trends for website move quickly and to stay on top of your online presence in a world which never stands still means revising the content and design of websites should be done every 9 – 12 months.

Even though I have the technical side of things down to a fine art, I never stop learning and I dedicate a portion of my working week to keeping on top of emerging market trends and researching the next steps for websites.
