Podmastery for Indie Creators is the second website I've built for Neal Veglio and is a rebuild of a self-built website using a podcast specific website builder.
The custom built website is to showcase the Podmastery: Podcasting Insights episodes, as well as services for indie creators.
Neal had already created a strong brand using podcast artwork which was vibrant and colourful. He gave me full access to extend the brand to shape the website. I pulled out the individual colours and decided to use gradients, of one colour into the other to mimic how soundwaves merge. I also used colours to determine areas of the website. Some of this was led by accessibility factors; to ensure everybody, including those who have issues with vision, would be able to see the website easily. The other factor was to help the brand feel aligned with Neal's other website: Podknows Podcasting - for B2B podcasting creators.
This meant balancing black headers and footers, with white sections to make text easily readable, and creating forms in different colours so people could see whether they're signing up to the blog mailing list or the podcast episodes.
